The Strain

Black Cherry Soda is a sativa dominant hybrid that often has a denser bud structure that is often seen with indicas. This strain is often in the 20 to 30 percent THC range as bud. The exact lineage of this strain is unknown.

Pre smoke

A strikingly bright gram of wax from Altus. A slightly sweet and heavy pine scent jumped out of the packaging once opened and the heavy pine scent carried over when opening the lid. The consistency is close to a badder with a slight glimmer from some crystalline structures in the badder when the light hits it.

The smoke

Despite the terps being listed at 6.6% they are more noticeable as an aroma when you open up the lid rather than taste that comes through when dabbing. As always the flavors came through better at lower temperatures but the tastes were never that strong even at low temperatures. The tastes that did come through were a pine flavor with a grassy aftertaste.

The high

The high took over my head quickly and the body quickly followed with a wave of relaxation. The head high minus some initial fogginess came back around 10 minutes later. I was relaxed enough to melt into my chair yet had enough of my brain left to be able to concentrate on vanquising my video game foes.

Final Thoughts

A pungent aroma, nice texture, decent hybrid high, and mild taste make this a smokeable choice at the price range. An extra 5 bucks per gram can make a difference at the lower end of the price spectrum and this dabbable provided a noticeable boost in flavor, texture and smell from it’s even cheaper brethren.

The Strain

Grandaddy Purple is an Indica mix of the strains Purple Urkle and Big Bud. The flower version quite often will have striking purple and orange coloring on large dense buds.

Pre smoke

A gram of concentrate from the low end of the price spectrum at under 19 dollars for a gram. This Granddaddy Purple dabbable has a dark brown crumble wax texture with a light sweet grassy smell. This wax crumbles texture is slightly moist and stays on the dab stick nicely. The texture is just dry enough to still easily crumble into joints or on top of bowls.

The smoke

The grassy smell of this dabable carries over to the flavor. The dabs were done using a quartz banger and at low, mid, and high temperatures in an ice filled dab rig. Taste is quite often one of the biggest differences between high and low end dabs.This gram of concentrate is no different. Heavy grassy, hay type of a taste at a lower temperature. As the temperature went up the flavor went down which I feel helps this concentrate.

The high

Good feeling Indica high. Hit me hard in the head at first then a wave of relaxation came over my body about 10 or 15 minutes later. While a very relaxing high I was able to muster enough motivation to take a walk in a neighborhood nature park and wander around nice and relaxed. Still able to be inspired and amused by the views and sounds inside the park  The couch’s siren song is pretty strong though and would be a great high for watching a movie, playing video or board games or just having a nice time to relax. The overall relaxing nature of the high could help with anxiety in some. The heavy head hit to start with could help some people who have problems getting to sleep.

Final Thoughts

Dabs at this budget price range almost never have the trifecta of taste, looks, and high. And these dabs are even at the low end of the low price range. That being said the high is perfectly cromulent. I would recommend this overall as a good choice in the budget price range for those looking for an Indica high.
